Terms, in plain words.
Short, because there is not much to it: the extensions are free, what you make with them is yours, and what belongs to others stays theirs.
Using the extensions
Every BENIBIX extension is free to use, for personal and commercial work, with no account. You add one from the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, the Visual Studio Marketplace or Open VSX; each store's own terms cover its pages and the download. Please do not use an extension to harm others, to get around a website's protection, or to break the law.
What you make is yours, what others own stays theirs
What an extension makes from your input, such as notes, lists, files or exports, belongs to you. When an extension reads a web page or a file, what it shows you (texts, pictures, colours, fonts, logos, a design) still belongs to whoever holds the rights in it. Use it only as their licence and the law allow: a font a page uses, for example, needs its own licence before you use it elsewhere, and another site's design or pictures are not yours to copy because an extension shows them. What each extension reads, keeps and sends is on its own privacy page.
Provided as they are
The extensions are built and tested with care, but they are provided as they are, without warranty. Browsers, editors and websites change, so an extension can stop working or give a wrong result until it is updated. I am liable in full for damage I cause on purpose or through gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For damage caused through slight negligence by using an extension or what it produces, I am not liable. Liability that the law does not allow to be limited, for example under product liability law, stays as the law sets it.
Updates and removal
Updates come through the store you added an extension from. You can remove an extension at any time. I may change an extension, or stop offering it; if it ever reads, keeps or sends more, its privacy page says so before the new version is published.
Other companies' names
BENIBIX is independent. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Microsoft, Google, Figma, Tailwind Labs, Mozilla or any other company whose products the extensions work with. “Visual Studio Code”, “VS Code”, “Visual Studio Marketplace”, “Power BI” and “Power BI Desktop” are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation, “Chrome”, “Chrome Web Store”, “Google Public DNS” and “YouTube” of Google LLC, “Figma” of Figma, Inc., “Tailwind CSS” of Tailwind Labs Inc. and “Firefox” of the Mozilla Foundation. They are used only to say what the extensions work with.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by Austrian law, without its rules on which country's law applies. If you use the extensions as a consumer, this does not take away the protection the mandatory law of the country where you live gives you (Art. 6(2) Rome I Regulation), and you can bring a claim before the courts there. Otherwise, the competent court in Vienna decides.
Changes
These terms may change as the extensions grow; this page always has the current version, last changed on 25 Oct 2026. Who runs the site, and how to reach me, is in the imprint; what happens to your data is in the privacy policy.
