Guests in your browser, with house rules.

Your browser is where you bank, write and work, so an extension in it should behave like a good guest. BENIBIX Extensions do one job each, look only when you ask, and leave nothing behind, in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox 140+.

House rules

Six rules, each one held.

Every extension here keeps the same rules, and each rule has something that makes sure it does.

  1. One job each

Each extension does one thing, on the page you ask it to, and stays out of the way the rest of the time.

    Held by

The Chrome Web Store's single-purpose rule: one narrow job, named in its listing.

  2. The fewest permissions

It asks only for what that job needs. Where it can, it asks for a site at the moment you use it, one site at a time.

    Held by

A check before every build: each permission in its code needs a reason on its page, or the build stops.

  3. Your browser's words, ahead of time

Its page shows what Chrome's and Firefox's add dialogs will say for each permission, so nothing in them comes as a surprise.

    Held by

Both browsers' own lists of permission warnings, quoted word for word.

  4. Every use of your data, named

What it reads, what it keeps and what it sends are listed on its page and in a privacy policy of its own.

    Held by

Firefox's consent dialog, which shows what its package declares it collects, and the Chrome Web Store's privacy answers.

  5. Only its own code

No scripts from a server and no code made from text: what you add is all that ever runs.

    Held by

Both stores forbid outside code, and the package is its own readable source, so a reviewer reads exactly what you run.

  6. Nothing left behind

No account to close. Remove it and everything it kept goes with it.

    Held by

Your browser itself: what an extension keeps lives in that extension's storage, which is deleted with it.

Before it reaches you

From my desk to your toolbar.

Every version takes the same path, and you can follow each step.

  1. Tested in both browsers

Its own tests run the real extension in Chrome and in Firefox and press its buttons the way you would.

  2. Checked by the stores

Google and Mozilla check each version before the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons offer it.

  3. Updated by your browser

Your browser fetches each new version by itself. Nothing to download, nothing to click.

  4. Written down

Every release lands in the changelog and its feed, with all it changed.

Every extension here is made by Behnia Zarei, a developer in Vienna who also makes the free BENIBIX tools. I work alone, so the person who wrote an extension is the one who reads what you say about it: each extension's page has a Feedback part for a bug, an idea or a note.

BENIBIX is independent: it is not made, endorsed or supported by Google, Figma, Tailwind Labs, Mozilla or any other company whose products the extensions work with or refer to. Their product names are their trademarks and are used here only to say what the extensions work with or refer to.
